Event Description
As many of you may, or may not know, we recently lost a valued member of our group
Kirk George
His neighbor, and friend Dave Smith reached out to put this together.
You may remember his C3 Corvette with the huge blower sticking out of the hood
Here is a little bit about Kirk's life in wording put together by his family-
Krikor Sherikjian was Born October, 2nd 1958. Krikor (Kirk) came to the United States with his family in March of 1972 to receive better healthcare because At the age of 9 months, Krikor contracted Polio. He required the use of crutches his entire life. Regardless of his circumstances, he never wanted to be treated differently by others nor did he let his handicap interfere with living his life. He was very strong willed and his love of cars especially hot rods always made him happy. There wasn’t a car show he didn’t attend. He never missed an Ocean City crusin week.
Kirk graduated from Kennedy High School in Wheaton, MD in 1977. The auto mechanic teacher at the high school would get upset because Kirk would correct him. As i have mentioned before,
Kirk was an avid car enthusiast. He worked as a manager at the family auto mechanic shop, along with his father and brother. Kirk was happiest when cruising the open roads in his Corvette. He was part of a group who shared in his passion for cars, and loved attending numerous car shows and racing events. He had a big heart and loved helping others in need.
Kirk leaves behind his three siblings; Maida Garrett, Hasmig Kechichian and Levon Sherikjian. Along with his nephews; David Garrett, Sarkis Kechichian, George & John Sherikjian and nieces; Angeline Jones, Socie Kechichian and Nora Honeycutt, and great nephews and nieces.
While he may have suffered these last couple of months, he lived a life that will be remembered by everyone he has impacted and is now at peace. He will be missed by so many.
