Event Description
Hello FSCC Folks,
Our FSCC monthly gathering will be on Saturday, May 7, at our regular location, the Blue Grass Stockyards Regional Marketplace located at 4561 Iron Works Pike, Lexington, KY 40511. We will meet at the regular time of 9-11am. As usual, thanks to our sponsors there will be no fee for attending. Note this is an outdoor event rain or sunshine. And remember out of respect for our sponsors and the other attendees, we don’t need speed shots or donuts on the asphalt.
Reminder, that we now have a new restaurant inside the Marketplace!! The name is The Barn Door, and the door will be open for us on Saturday. So, consider stopping in for breakfast or lunch. I certainly will! As usual our sponsors are providing the first 50 cups of coffee and donuts free at our gathering hall inside the Marketplace. Thank you to Garage Solutions of Central Kentucky, Detail Lex, Wildcat Van Lines, and the Blue Grass Stockyards.
Note that Detail Lex will have a tent at the event. They will be offering detailing products for sale, advice for free, and a drawing at 10:00 for a $1,000 gift card. You’ll want to check them out!!!
And Locally:
1) Nominations of cars have closed for the 2022 Keeneland Concurs d’Elegance (July 16, 2022) show field. The Car Acquisition Committee has done a great job of filling 144 exhibits in 20 classes that include 129 cars, 8 motorcycles and 7 carriages. Car manufacturers there include the Feature Marque, Porsche (32 cars, 22%), Chevrolet (14 cars, 10%), 5 Buicks, 4 each of Ferraris, Fords, Mercedes, and Packards. The oldest exhibit is a carriage (132 years old). The oldest car is the Stanley Steamer at 112. There is also a carriage and a car, the Buick Model 10 both built in the same year, 1909. You gotta see these!!
2) Note that Volunteer sign-up for the Keeneland Concours is now open at https://keenelandconcours.com/volunteer-sign-up/?v=7516fd43adaa. In addition to the benefit of having a great time with some fun folks at a super event, volunteers also get free admission and a cool volunteer T-shirt. Recall that you would be contributing your time to a charity event with proceeds going to the Kentucky Children’s Hospital continuously since 2004. Let me know if you have any questions.
3) Yes, we will have a Maserati Mingle this year! Our 2021 Mingle was “off the chain”. Everyone enjoyed the new venue at the Summit and its surrounding facilities. We are planning on doing the Summit again this year. The tentative date is Friday, June 24. We will again be capacity limited on car spaces available. We’ve already had two requests for spaces. If you would like to display your ride, let me know. As with last year, we’re looking for a good distribution of car types.
Also, if you are interested in volunteering for the Mingle, let me know at slant@twc.com.
So, come on out and play in the 'Yard!
